Hyper 3D Pinball is quite an exception with a total of six tables and may appeal to gamers who don't want to play with only one table and risk being bored after a couple of hours or less. The main criticism about 3D Pinballs is the small number of tables that come with the game usually ranging from one to three, contrary to 2D pinballs where the standard was to offer at least four different tables. What will Hyper 3D Pinball bring to the genre? Find out by reading what follows. As each title claims to be the ultimate pinball experience, it may be difficult to make the right choice. The competition already took this new genre by storm with three similar games available: Pro Pinball The Web by Empire Interactive, 3D Ultra Pinball from Sierra On-Line and Pinball 95 from Maxis. Hyper 3D Pinball is 3D pinball released by Virgin and conceived by the British developer NMS. Hyper 3-D Pinball is part of the Pinball Madness collection by Encore Software. A tilt factor, bumping (the table) and extra flippers round out the features that allow you an edge on the competition if you can master the skills. Hyper 3-D Pinball makes use of targets, loops, pits, extra balls, ramps and more in this collection of thematic pinball tables. As with most pinball games, the longer you can manage to keep your ball alive and the higher score you rack up, the more opportunities present themselves in the guise of bonus scoring. Each of the six tables contains unique skill requirements, bonus multipliers and specific features tied into the theme of the table. Up to four players can compete on the same screen, sound and music can be toggled on or off and a graphics contrast option is provided for customizing the monitor brightness. The game offers three resolutions from which to choose and supports three options for game play viewing, namely, a 3D scrolling playfield, a 2D plainview perspective and a full screen 3D option. Hyper 3-D Pinball contains six unique tables including The Gangster, Fun Fair, Roadking, Myst & Majik, Star Quest 2049 and The Monster.
